What’s The Buzz?

BNC101018-AN-1 - Birds - What Are You Lookin' At

March 15th – the buzzards return to Hinkley, OH.  Every year.  How do they know?  These particular buzzards decided to move along from Hinkley to the lake.  Guess they’re beach buzzards.

A few years ago on March 15th, we got up before dawn, made our way to Hinkley and stood in the cold around a campfire-in-a-can (50 gallon drum), drinking coffee and hot chocolate, kibitzing with the dozens and dozens of other people who had done the same while we waited…and waited…and waited.

We saw the sunrise before we saw a buzzard.  Eventually, the cold got to us so we went home.  And what do you think we saw as we rounded the bend for home?  If you guessed buzzards, then you are absolutely correct.

Janine Jacobs-Beleski — Watercolor Artist

Janine Jacobs-Beleski lives in Vermilion, Ohio and has been creating and selling her artwork for more than 20 years. She has exhibited her paintings in many galleries throughout the United States and Canada. Janine states, “When I am painting, I often lose track of time. I become completely involved with the work in progress. It dictates to me where I should go, the intensity of the colors and the overall mood of the picture.” Her art has been described by others as portraying an overwhelming dramatic story of stormy landscapes, wild and emotional florals, intense, sometimes moody portraits, all with a wash of unrestricted color. For more information please email her at jjacobsart@gmail.com.

Ria TerraNova-Webb — Author, Dancer & Wannabe Yogini

Former: Daughter; Hippie; Thespian; Circus Clown; Pre-school,  Kindergarten and Drama Teacher

In the Basilico: Pizza bagels, lost theatre tickets, subways and runways, sturdy pools, corncobs, and wooden spoons tangle like a bowl of spaghetti on the table of this Sicilian-American family as they careen through life. Love, laughter, and of course Basil, fuel the antics of the Cangialosi clan bound by their sense of family and passion for life.

Craig A. Webb — Author, Buddhist, Hippie Clown

Craig A. Webb is a local self published author, who writes comedy, satire and horror in stage plays, screenplays and novels about Cleveland.

Craig is an old, Buddhist, hippie clown who has been carrying this monkey on his back for a very, very long time. He humbly begs forgiveness from anyone who may have been religiously, politically, sexually, linguistically, locally, commercially or culturally offended. He was only joking, (hence the rubber nose). No fatwa’s or jihads are necessary. He won’t do it again.

M.T. Bass — Author, Pilot, Guitar Picker

M.T. Bass is a scribbler of fiction who holds fast to the notion that while victors may get to write history, novelists get to write/right reality. He lives, writes, flies and makes music in Mudcat Falls, USA.
